I've had psoriasis for more than thirty years. In fact, I was officially labeled as "10 % disabled " due to it.
I have tried practically every topical treatment that I could find. Some of the treatments softened the effected area but didn't really help in the long run.
Like everyone with psoriasis, I tried natural stuff, I tried certain diets..If you can think of it I tried it.
My effected areas are elbows, knees, buttocks.
The psoriasis that I lived with all these years is virtually undetectable now.
Here's what I changed in my lifestyle two years ago. This may help others with a mild case of this.
1) virtually eliminated processed sugars in any form (sodas, candies, cake, white rice, white bread etc.)
2) For fluids I drink only water (well over the recommended 8 glasses per day...more like 15-20)
3) Resumed regular and aggressive exercise program (bike ride (not stroll) ten miles 5-6 time per week).
4) Take in 20 minutes of sunlight on my entire body 4-6 times per week.
5) I eliminated pork completely and restricted my intake of beef to a few times per month (no fast food).
6) I consume mostly fish, chicken, vegetables and fruit.
7) I keep the once effected areas soft with vasoline. (I would recommend FlakeFree zinc and tea tree oil....edit site editor)
This may seem like a lot of stuff to give up...but to be able to function without bleeding skin and all the other emotional baggage that goes with it, it was worth it to me.
