Stretch Mark Woes

I am an overweight woman. I have been overweight since I was young, and have experienced stretch marks for as long as I can remember.

My question is if someone loses weight, will the stretch marks remain? I think I am going to be trying very hard to lose weight this year.

I am finding more stretch marks all over my body. Will this be just one of the permanent reminders of my former obese state? Thanks.
