Sores/Cysts on Scalp
by Danielle

My 16 year old brother has been suffering from sores/cysts on his scalp for almost 2 years now. We've been told its folliticus-an infection of the hair follicles. The cysts get very inflamed, filled with puss, then scab over. He's tried countless topical treatments and antibiotics to no avail. Only one of the antibiotics seem to slightly reduce the inflammation, but new one's still keep surfacing. We've been told to keep him on this indefinitely and see what happens once he reaches puberty. However, not only do many more still appear, but his hair has thinned and he now has two bald spots where cysts were previously. We've realized that at times when he has more dairy or fatty foods that his head seems to breakout more. Therefore we've been keeping him on a low fat, little dairy diet, as its the only thing that helps reduce the breakouts. We are desperate to find a permanent solution, before it causes any more damage to his scalp and hair. Any information, suggestions are very much welcomed.
Thank you
Danielle,
I think I answered you in another related topic, but you go into more detail here, so thanks for posting your question.
I think you will find great results from our therapeutic hair gel with zinc and tea tree formulated into it as well as numerous other beneficial herbal ingredients.
The reason it is so much more effective than any therapeutic shampoo is because the active ingredients stay in continual contact with the scalp.
Zinc and tea tree are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, and anti-fungal.
Simply work into scalp daily after shampooing.
Continue use until symptoms disappear or continue as a regular hair gel if desired to keep his scalp clear and healthy.
