Shoes for Toe Callus

by larry chmielowiec

I'm 57 years old and have Diabetes. I have a callus on my middle toe, the tip of it. The nail is also messed up, probably because of the callus. When I do a lot of walking it begins to hurt.

I live in NY City and I don't have a car anymore. So I do a lot of walking. I went to VA Hosp and they gave me a pair of shoes but they are measured at size 12 and I wear a 13 most of the time. SO>>>>will the 12 be a problem or has the 13 I have been wearing been the real problem.

Larry,

I would think the smaller shoe size might be counter productive because it may cause friction to your toes and actually irritate your callus.

Shoes with a wide toe box are best and also help with circulation.

I would suggest shopping online to find the most comfortable and protective shoes at the best price.

Best wishes,
Zac
