Shea Butter - the All-Natural Treatment for Dry Skin

I have always had dry skin. When I was young – I'm talking 5 or 6 years old – my skin was so dry it hurt. It was tight and itchy and very uncomfortable.
I just thought this was "normal." My mother also had dry skin. Her legs looked like alligator flesh. So it was natural for me to think this was just how it is. Later, when I entered school, I learned that I don't have to live with this condition.
But I didn't know what to do for it, and my mother's products didn't really help. I tried various lotions, including Intensive Care, Nivea, Corn Husker's Lotion, and even straight out of the jar Vaseline. Nothing helped. Or rather, they did help a little, but the dry skin would always return.
Washing only exacerbated the condition, and winters were very bad. Then one day I discovered shea butter. Not the bleached and scented and over-priced variety found at the high-end boutique stores, but pure, natural, unadulterated shea butter from Africa.
I started using it daily, and my dry skin cleared up almost overnight. It doesn't just cover up dry skin, but helps your body's own cells to produce and retain moisture. It really works. I can go days without an application.
I don't itch and flake any more. I even get compliments on how soft my skin is! It's no miracle; I still get some dryness in the winter months, but overall, it's been a huge blessing and relief. And it's all-natural. I recommend it to anyone with dry or sensitive skin.
