Scalp Sores and dryness
My son has had very dry scalp to the extent it some turn into sores. We have seen the doctor on several occasions and every medication has not worked. He says it may be psoriasis. Any suggestions
Answer:
Your son very likely has what is called scalp dermatitis, or scalp eczema which are the same thing.
The sores you speak of are actually the dermatitis weeping fluid, particularly when they are scratched.
They can even scab over. Sometimes the weeping effect dries into bumps or lumps that are then scratched off.
They can be either yellowish clumps or red like a scab from the itching.
What works for scalp dermatitis is zinc pyrithione and tea tree oil.
I had our chemist formulate these ingredients along with natural herbal remedies into a professional quality hair get.
We call it FlakeFree. What makes it so effective is the active ingredients remain in continual contact with the scalp providing around the clock scalp therapy.
Unlike therapeutic shampoos that you rinse off in a matter of moments. FlakeFree remains in contact giving you fast and effective results.
