scalp eczema and chemotherapy
I have developed what my doctor calls eczema which is on my scalp. It is terrible dandruff-like flakes and redness with itching.
I developed this condition while undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia, but the doctor says the two are unrelated.
I've never had scalp problems before. My chemo drugs are fludera and rituxin. Do you have any ideas what's going on, or how to treat it? I use Selsum Blue, which gives a little help. Thanks, Lonny
Answer:
Lonny, yes of course this is not uncommon at all.
Chemo side effects include skin rashes and eczema or dermatitis of the scalp.
Our company has provided wigs, hats and turbans for chemo patients for decades and we have seen and heard the testimonies from chemo patients who suffer from scalp disorders.
Scalp eczema being the most common.
We have recommended our zinc and tea tree lotion for years for irritated skin from chemo. When total hair loss occurs it can also be applied to the scalp.
During regrowth and or if total hair loss isn't experienced during scalp eczema flare ups we have formulated our therapeutic zinc and tea tree hair gel to alleviate symptoms and provide relief.
They are extremely affordable on our site in the featured products section.

Use once daily until symptoms disappear. Lotion can be used twice daily if needed.
We also recommend using a tea tree shampoo to restore proper PH levels.
