I am not in teens. Why do I have acne?

by hardeep
(sydney, australia)

I have a normal to dry skin. When I was in my teens, I did not have a big acne problem like most of my friends. Just a odd one time to time-that's it.

But now I am in my late twenties and I get pimples, blackheads as well as whiteheads. The problem strated when I started taking contraceptive pills.

Is it just a coincidence or is there a link between the two? Some pimples have also left a mark. I wash my face three times a day to remove any oil from my skin. I don't wear make up on a regular basis.

I thought teenagers had acne. I left my teens way behind, why do I get acne now?

Is Acne Hormonal?
by: Zac

Hardeep,

There is no doubt there could be a link between your contraceptive and acne. Since you hormones are effected. This is one of the reasons teenagers are so susceptible.

Now, as to washing your face three times a day, this may be conterproductive if you are using common soaps and cleansers.

Many soaps and cleansers leave a residue on your skin which clogs your pores. This be causing your black and white heads.

I would recommend a free and clear cleanser to help with this. Plus, for your acne in general, we have provided the best products available online on our main acne page for you, so you can choose the acne treatment that is right for your skin type.

As we state on the acne page, a good diet and vitamin supplements will help as well. Especially for your hormonal inbalance.

Just click on some of the image links and check out the different acne treatments we have provided.

Best wishes,
Zac
