How can I get the shiny, well defined curls I see on t..v advertisements?

by JDC
(Texas)

I have long, naturally curly hair. I was wondering how I can get the shiny, well defined curls I see on those t.v. commercials. Is that really possible? Please give me some ideas. Thanks.

Hi JDC,

I think the only way to have such curls is to spend lot of time on styling them. I don't know if this happens also to you, but I used to have shiny and well defined curls only when I went to the hair dresser but after a one week or two I was back from the start. I asked my hair dresser her "secret" and she told it's important to use a proper shampoo and conditioner specific for curly hair, to comb while conditioner is still on your head and to dry them very slowly and patiently. Now when I have time I follow all these instructions and my curls look so much better, it's amazing! If you don't have your own ones I recommend you to try batiaandaleeza.com shampoo and conditioner which are made just for curly hair and are very specific.
However it's impossible to spend 3 hours everyday so I usually wash my hair every second day, and I do it very slowly and patiently like my hairdresser said only on sundays.

I hope it helps!

kisses
