Hammer Toe and Psoriasis ... any connection?

by Wanda
(Dartmouth, NS, Canada)

I believe I have a hammer toe. On my left foot, second toe from big toe, middle joint is popped up which seems to pull on a tendon that affects the ball of my foot. Directly under, on the bottom of my foot, a callous has formed and it is always somewhat painful. I've tried stretching my foot with exercise and massage but it is no better. I want to avoid surgery if at all possible. I also have psoriasis ... I wonder if that condition is hand in hand with hammer toes. My mom had both conditions, no bunions, but psoriasis that affected the nails. I would appreciate your comments.
