Hair color burned my scalp
by Kalli

I have colored my hair black a couple times a year for the past 12 years.
The last two time, I ended up with oozing sores and severe itching all through my hair and on my neck and ears. And the glands on the back of my head are swollen.
I have read online about this. And it seems to be happening quite alot. But so far no advice on what to use to heal these oozing sores. I have had mine for 4 months.
But, I have no insurance to go to a doctor or a dermatologist. So please any help would be wonderful. Taking tylenol and ibuprofen for the pain and inflamation can only go on so long.
The hair color that was used on my hair was SoColor Black.
AnswerKalli,
What you have is called contact dermatitis. The oozing sores and inflammation are typical for your condition.
I recommend our zinc and tea tree lotion for dermatitis on the skin, and we developed our zinc and tea tree hair gel for scalp therapy since you wouldn't want lotion in your hair :)
Now, the zinc and tea tree are FDA approved for dermatitis and are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, and anti-fungal.
It will clear your scalp up in a couple of days.
Just use it after showering working into your scalp with your finger tips. Style as usual with any other styling gel.
If you don't want the hold, just run a comb or brush through your hair after it sets.
