fungus from a 'clean' cold towel in hotel spa?
My son spent a weekend in a hotel that had a sauna, gym, etc. After exercising and using the sauna, he used a 'clean' cold towel to wrap around his head to cool off. Ever since then (9 months ago) he's had what I think is a fungal infection. He's been to two dermatologists with not much help. His symptoms are reddish, swollen skin on his forehead and ears and also his scalp. It's crusty at times and seems to get worse when he's been working out at the gym, like when he's warm. Wondering if anyone has heard of acquiring some skin condition from a cold-soaked gym towel that was supposedly clean?
AnswerSounds like dermatitis which can be cleared up with zinc and tea tree lotion. Even if it's fungal the lotion will also clear it up.
We have the same formulation in a hair gel form to use on his scalp.
