Dry crusty scalp

My son has very bad crusty dry scalp I have used all the shampoos and it will loosen it up but I can not find anything to get it out it looks like it clings to the very hair that comes out of his scalp and then when dries he is left with that mess all in his hair.

How can I get this out for him? We have tried to comb it but then it gets red and raw and then it hurts him.

He is 11 years old and this is bothering and embarrasing him.

Answer:

You son likely has dermatitis also known as eczema of the scalp.

I main thing you need to do is treat the cause of his crusty scalp.

I have the same problem myself and use our flakefree therapeutic hair gel to clear my scalp up.

It is so much more effective than therapeutic shampoos because it remains in continual contact with the scalp.

After shampooing work the gel in to the hair and scalp with your finger tips. Style as usual.

If the hold of the gel is not preferred just run a comb or brush through it after it sets to loosen the hold.

After just a couple of applications you will see the crusty scalp problems disappear.

The active ingredients are zinc pyrithione (FDA approved) as well as tea tree and peppermint oil along with numerous beneficial herbal ingredients.
