confusion about which surgery I need

hello,

I have second toe dislocation. I was told two different things podiatrists . The first one said I needed Wiel's osteotomy on the second toe and I didn't need bunion surgery.

The second one said I needed second toe surgery and a lapidus bunion surgery. I am confused by the two different opinions. Can you help me.

Diane

Answer:

Diane,

Sounds like the second opinion thinks your bunion is causing your second toe's problem. And to one degree or another that is probably true.

The first opinion may be thinking the bunion surgery might not be needed and wants to try surgery on the second toe alone to start with.

I think this comes down to a personal decision on your part. You can always have the bunion surgery later.

In any case, have you tried relieving the pain and helped re-align your toe with our comfy toe brace?

Even if you are having surgery, It will help comfort your toe, and help it heal quicker. (it's on the featured products page)

Best wishes,
Zac
