Bumps on scalp

by Anna
(UK)

My daughter has recently developed bumps all over her scalp. They hurt her when they are touched or her hair is combed. If scratched they bleed and the remaining hole looks like a little crater.

What is this and how can I make it better?

Answer:

Anna,

What your daughter has is scalp dermatitis. The effected area oozes, or weeps fluid which then dries to a crust and bleed slightly when scratched off. That's what causes the bumps on her scalp.

I recommend using our zinc and tea tree hair gel to treat the symptoms. Applying daily after shampooing hair when wet for best results. Work in well with fingertips and then style as usual.

If a firm hold isn't desired, simply run a comb or brush through the hair after it sets.

You will see improvement in as little as two days.
