Any vitamins, food, treatments etc... for breaking hair please?

by Dee
(Ireland)

Hello, I've had long hair for about 15 years now, but since an illness last year, it's still growing (I can see the gray roots!!) but it's breaking off, so I'm not getting any more length. Any tips, advice, information etc...would be really appreciated. It's kind of getting me down. I had my hair trimmed on my last visit to the hairdressers to try and revitalise it and it's only to my collarbone now. I want it to be another 6 inches! Thanks so much.

Nutrients
by: Charlene

Hi! Have you ever heard of SacredEden.com? There's a hair vitamin that I ordered from then and have been using for over 2 months. I purchased them for hair growth, but my hair has gotten so thick that I can barely hold it in a clasp. Hopefully the growth will kick in soon (it starts by detoxifying the body and then it's supposed to strengthen and grow the hair very long, thick and healthy). When your hair was long, were you taking any types of supplements or doing anything special for your hair. Maybe while your were ill, you weren't taking care of your hair the way you used to. Try taking supplements specifically for hair and most importantly drinks LOTSSSSS of water and make sure that your nutrients are being digested properly. You might want to take Acidophillus (for digestion). Also, I take cayenne pepper capules (this strengthens your other nutrients and helps with the blood flow to your scalp and throughout your body - it also speeds up your metabolism). I hear that exercising is also good (if you have the time) :). Good luck with your hair growing.

Vitamins

A good Multi-vitamin and if you're in your 40's go to the website women to women.com they offer good vitamins and helpful advice. Good luck.

I know how you feel! Cheer up!

I have had the same problem. It was driving me crazy until my mom (a nurse and the source of all knowledge it would seem) told me why that probably is.
When you are sick, your body is putting all its energy into fighting off whatever it is that is throwing off its natural rhythms. That means vitamins, minerals, essential oils... everything our hair depends on for its silken length and strength! Even when you start to get back to your regular self, your body is still off pattern and hording all that stuff that your hair desperately needs. It can not only throw off hair strength and growth, but nail strength and growth, womanly biorhythms and weight management! What a pain, huh?
Patience, good eating habits, regular schedule and healthy living can all contribute to getting your entire body back in its groove. Keep up with conditioning while the breakage is still an issue even if it doesn't seem to be of use. In its fragile condition your hair needs all the help it can get!
