Adult Acne

by Jennifer
(Huntsville, AL)

After struggling with both adolescent and adult acne for over a decade, a friend finally told me about a regimen she tried that really does work wonders. Apparently this is the same method used by ProActive and other expensive skin care systems, with less expensive products you can find at the drug store. You just have to know what to get.

The regimen is simple, and needs to be done twice a day: morning and night.

Step 1. Wash your face with hot water and a free-and-clear cleanser. Not soap, and not acne wash. It must be a free-and-clear cleanser like Purpose. Pat dry and allow to dry for 5 minutes.

Step 2. LIBERALLY apply a 2.5% benzoyle peroxide acne cream. You are going to be slathering this on quite liberally, so do not use 10%, it doesn't work any better. Apply everywhere you ever get acne, not just on active blemishes. Wait 5 minutes.

Step 3. Apply a moisturizer intended for facial use all over, to counteract the drying effects of the benzoyle peroxide.

Within a few weeks of this regimen, I was primarily acne free, and what occasional blemishes I do get do not get as large nor last as long. I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone, but I know several people who have had success with this regimen.

Acne Cleanser and Moisturizer
by: Zac

Jennifer,

Thank you for your comments. Many people will benefit from them I'm sure.

Along with you suggestions stated above, I would like to add something very important to the equation.

When using a moisturizer, I would strongly recommend on with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-allergen properties for superior results.

We have a therapeutic moisturizing lotion here that does just that. It is formulated with zinc, tea tree, aloe, and peppermint oil, and not only combats acne, but moisturizes, and restores skin to it's natural health.

Here is a link to it for you and others:
Therapeutic Moisturizer for Acne

Let us know how you like it will you?

Best wishes,
Zac
