Acne Skin Care Tips

One of the most common mistakes I constantly hear is dry skin is better than oily skin. It really doesn't matter what skin type you have, almost everyone has acne to one degree or another.

What ever type of skin you have you definitely want to keep your skin moist for healthy looking skin. One major problem is the over consumption of caffeine products. If you drink a lot of soda or coffee, just be sure to drink at least that much water. I can't emphasize this enough.

When using a moisturizer with your acne treatment, be sure to apply it after bathing when skin is well hydrated for best results.

Using a moisturizer with anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties will reduce existing acne, and help prevent outbreaks.

Diet is also important for healthy skin. Obviously a diet primarily consisting of fast processed foods should be avoided. The key is a well balanced diet. Occasional burgers and fries are alright if you generally eat fruits, vegetables, and low fat protein.

Another important key is choosing the right cleanser. Typical facial soaps are designed more with fragrance and marketability in mind.

I highly recommend free and clear cleansers which leave little or no residue on your skin. Not only will this help keep your pores healthy, but reduce side effects from harsh cleansers.
