13 yr. old grandson's bald spots

My 13 yr old African American grandson has white dry spots that shows up whenever he gets a haircut. The barber says that he has dry scalp and needs to use oil sheen or moisturizer. I had him do this,and it worked for a while, but now he's developing small bald spots all over the scalp. I made an appointment w/ doctor; but in the meantime, does anyone have a clue as to what is going on?

He likely has scalp dermatitis. Use our zinc and tea tree gel on his scalp and it will clear it up in a day or two.
